GREENSTONE ADVENTURES
The mission of Greenstone Adventures is to inspire youth through wilderness immersion. Greenstone Adventures offers multi-day backpacking trips for 7th through 12th graders. Our Trips are run primarily in Shenandoah National Park, George Washington National Forest, Thomas Jefferson National Forest, utilizing different portions of the Appalachian Trail and surrounding connector trails. We offer trips within three age ranges: 7th-8th grade, 9th-10th grade, and 11th-12th grade. All trips are led by a male and female guide. In central Virginia, we are spoiled with immaculate trails, beautiful overlooks, tall waterfalls, well maintained campsites, and exposure to real wilderness. THE WILD TRAVELER
Designed for ages 13 to 16 years old, The Wild Traveler's Hawaii / Kauai teen adventure tour is perfect for beginner to intermediate travelers. Each trip has a max of 12 participants and is led by 2 experienced Wild Traveler trip leaders. Over the course of our 17 day Hawaii / Kauai teen tour, we'll travel to two islands (The Big Island and Kauai), get SCUBA certified, surf Kauai's north shore, hike Volcanoes National Park and the NaPali coast, kayak Hanalei Bay, night snorkel with manta rays, volunteer on a habitat restoration project, camp on Hawaii's best beaches, explore ancient Hawaiian temples and eat a lot of Hawaiian shave ice. In addition to trying a variety of outdoor activities, participants also gain leadership skills, a greater sense of self confidence and independence, an appreciation of the outdoors, and create new lifelong friendships. We are located on 48 acres of the breathtaking mountain ranges of Alexander, NC, about 15 minutes northwest of Asheville with panoramic views of the Appalachian mountains of Tennessee over 50 miles away.
