S’mores & STEM
Camp Sugar Hollow, August 7
Join the Girl Scouts to celebrate National S’mores Day with s’mores (of course) and a visit from the Mobile STEM Center. The day will feature engineering activities, learning about constellations and more.

WTJU Touch & Tour
WTJU Radio Studios, August 14
This is an opportunity for children to get their hands on the radio equipment that brings music and voices to the airwaves. Kids can slide the knobs on a sound board, speak through a microphone, cue a vinyl record and sit in an actual air studio. There will also be a music-making activity and more.

Annual Riverfront Chalk Festival
Amazement Square, August 21
Enjoy live music, food trucks and activities while soaking up the last moments of summer at Amazement Square in Lynchburg. Artists of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are invited to register for the chalk art contest and compete for coveted prizes.

Shenandoah National Park Free Fee Day

Take a hike with the family, and enjoy free admission to the park in recognition of the National Park Service’s birthday.

Harlem Globetrotters
