Since beginning in 1999, Light House Studio has helped area students create thousands of documentaries, dramas and animated films. Our student’s work has been broadcasted on PBS, CNN, IFC and TNT, as well as exhibited at the Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia, Second Street Gallery and Live Arts, among others and shown in festivals all over the United States.

At Light House Studio, we equip young people with the skills and confidence to tell their stories and build community through collaborative filmmaking. We seek to foster a community where Charlottesville’s young people flourish as students, storytellers and citizens.

Light House Studio is an award-winning nonprofit. This past year, our students films were accepted to 31 national and international film festivals, winning 16 festival awards.
